Media Consolidation Makes Me Mad

My blood pressure goes up a little bit when I hear about the FCC head proposing that we again open up the restrictions so that one corporation can own too many media outlets. Were we unclear the last time the FCC proposed this boneheaded idea? Should one company own most of the radio dial in a city, and the print newspapers, and the TV news outlets? Does this serve the public? Is it a good use of the public airwaves? Is that what democracy is about? No, no, no, no and no.
Take a few minutes to email your congressional contingent and tell them to rein in the FCC. Supposedly this will be open for public comment, at which point I will post about it again. For some helpful background, check out http://www.stopbigmedia.com/chart.php
